Cecilia is a Brazilian undergraduate student currently in her third year of the Biological Sciences program at the University of São Paulo (USP). She joined us through GRIPS program. She has a contagious passion for ecology and a particular keen on BEES! Cecilia originally planned to conduct fieldwork searching for entomophthorales fungi-infected insects in the forests around Nanjing. Despite our many hours of patient searching, we didn’t have much luck finding enough number of infected individuals in the field. Then she pivoted gracefully and developed a project building Species Distribution Models to identify habitat suitability for these fungi, and to predict how their potential ranges might shift under future climate scenarios. Her passions and adaptability were truly outstanding!
