Outstanding Undergraduate Thesis Award Goes to Chen Tian

We are pleased to announce that our to-be Master student Chen Tian has received “Outstanding Undergraduate Thesis Award” from LanZhou University for his impressive work on fruit fly temperature sensitivity conducted at our lab.

Chen took full ownership of the project from the very beginning. He established the entire experimental setup, including crossing mass‑bred lines from fly cultures collected in the field just a few months prior. His dedication continued through the data collection phase, where he carefully counted over 20,000 flies to examine how temperature affects behavior in both single‑species and mixed‑species environments.

His findings has offer valuable new insights into thermal responses in inter-connected biological communities, and we are excited to see where his research journey takes him next. Congratulations to Chen on this well‑deserved recognition and happy Graduation!
